Three Important events in Pontius Pilate's Life

Named Prefect of Judea: After the death of King Herod Rome appointed prefects instead of kings to rule over Judea. After the term of Valerius Gratus, Pilate , in 26 A.D. became the prefect of Judea until 36 A.D. Herod was a relative unknown prefect with no great accomplishmentsto his and is important in history because of his involvement in the crucification of Jesus Crist.

Crucification Of Jesus Christ: After Jesus was convicted of Blashphemy, his case went before Pontius Pilate who was the prefect and ruler of Judea at the time. After speaking with him Pilate was impressed with his dignity and honor and was unable to pass judgement. The decision then went to the man in control of Jerusalem. He was angered because Jesus was unable to preform the great miracles people claimed he could do and so he was sentenced to death. Pilate then, who disagreed with the decision to cricify Jesus but also did not want a revolt, washed his hands of Jesus' fate and separated himself from the decision.

Defeat Of Pilate: After four days in Ceasarea of battle the Jews shpoed no signs of weakining. The Jews had a revolt against Pilate and Judea. Pilate said,"Caesar had always been anxious not to interfere with their religion and that I was no less disposed than other Governors to respect their scruples." The Jews were furiated and took action. Not much more was known about this event but it is very important because it is the defeat of Pilate.
